Mickael Chavet has won Bronze at the 2026 Prix de la Photographie Paris (PX3) for The Shadow Line, a BMX photograph recognised in the Sports / Competitive Events – Professional category.

Seen from above, five elite BMX riders cross a stretch of sunlit asphalt. Their elongated shadows race alongside them, repeating the forms of bodies, bicycles and wheels. The elevated viewpoint turns a split second of competition into a composition of lines, patterns and contrast.
“I deliberately photographed the race from a high vantage point to isolate the riders and their bicycles against the asphalt,” says Chavet. “The shadows became dynamic participants in the image, reinforcing the speed and rhythm of the action. It is a moment where speed becomes geometry.”
For Chavet, the photograph reflects a wider purpose: to create impactful sports imagery that reaches beyond the competition and brings the values of excellence, respect and friendship to a broad audience.
